This section of the website lists the history and details
of 'modern rides' - ride types that have formed some important role in
the shaping of the post-1950s fairground. The proliferation of 'novelty
rides' from the 1980s onwards means that many ride types exist in small
numbers for a small period of time. To this effect we have grouped some
rides into specific categories.
