Angel's Angle
Part 1 - Arks and Waltzers 1970s
Paul Angel began photographing fairs and rallies in the early 1970s, working from his Hereford base with colour film. In later years Paul investigated some of the lesser visited venues, seeking out remote amusement stands and rides that made rare appearances always outside of the main route. These galleries celebrate Paul's work.
This first selection showcases Paul's love of the platform ride, and helps us buttress our knowledge of the spread, change (and demise) of the ride from the 1970s onwards. Important details have been gleaned from these photographs and are included in the captions.
